Kirkland police’s new vehicles may cause temporary blindness, seizures | Letter

While I like the look of the Kirkland Police Department’s new Dodge Chargers I honestly think the strobe lights are a hazard.

While I like the look of the Kirkland Police Department’s new Dodge Chargers I honestly think the strobe lights are a hazard. I’m not certain what candle power is but it seems too much.

I think the idea would be to provide safety so that people can see the stopped squad car. These lights are extremely abrasive from even a half mile away.

I think they’re unnecessarily bright and in my case causes temporary blindness. I’m very concerned they will cause an accident or possibly even trigger a seizure in someone.

I would ask the brass at the police department to please do some further research before they change out or order anymore units with this light configuration.
