Kirkland’s Lake Street Place development would impact seniors’ safety | Letter

I have lived at Merrill Gardens in Kirkland for about three years, it has been a most happy and comfortable residence.

I have lived at Merrill Gardens in Kirkland for about three years, it has been a most happy and comfortable residence. Can you imagine the chaotic change in our peaceful environment if we had a parking garage in our faces directly opposite of our already-crowded entrance. It would impact everyone’s health and safety in an alarming way.

My concern about traffic congestion is personal, as I was hit by a car in a crowded parking lot about 10 years ago. The ensuing recovery, surgery, pain and suffering is still a strong memory and part of my everyday life. I am one of the residents here using a walker.

Please consider all the negative aspects of this construction, including the effect on air quality and traffic congestion.
