So your May 6 guest columnist longs for a capitalist economic system? He should lead by example and 1) reimburse the government entities which paid for his public education, 2) organize his own defense, fire, EMT and police services and pay for them, 3) never use aircraft which are using FAA controlled airspace and airports, and 4) build a boat to row himself across the lake from now on. Otherwise, he’s taking advantage of the “socialist” system he seems to dislike so much. We have a mixed system, but it’s never been purely capitalist. We all have aspects of it we dislike, but we all benefit from and enjoy various aspects of socialism also.
