I am responding to Robert Style’s letter in the Aug. 23 issue of the Reporter, “Mayor wants Kirkland to look like Seattle.”

I heartily concur with Mr. Style’s summation of the vision that Mayor Joan McBride has had for the city of Kirkland. Any council member who, in open council meetings, smiles and states that she “loves density” and narrow sidewalks, is one who is in no way attuned to our city and its heritage.

If we elect another mayor with such plans for our future, then we deserve what we get.
