Last week the seniors received a pamphlet from Medicare informing them about what Obamacare will mean for them. What a rosy picture it painted. Supposedly, Obamacare is going to provide seniors with greater savings and increased quality of health care. They are assured that they will receive new benefits, including free colorectal screenings and mammograms and a free annual exam. This flyer claims that Obamacare is going to increase the number of primary care doctors and nurses, in spite of the fact that Medicare is going to greatly cut (21 percent is the figure mentioned) the amount these individuals are going to get paid for their services. It goes on to talk about improvements in Medicare Advantage but does not address the fact that fewer health care providers will now accept this program. It is obvious that this pamphlet was designed to lull the seniors into accepting the new Medicare because it omitted a major fact about Obamacare. Obamacare is being funded by a half-trillion dollars in Medicare cuts. I remember as a child being told by my parents that if something seemed to good to be true than it probably was not true. I think that our seniors need to keep that in mind.
