I have never, in 23 years of living on Finn Hill, seen so many police officers patrolling my neighborhood since annexation took place.
The Wednesday Farmer’s Market was wonderful last year at the Marina. Not so much this year.
I just finished reading the latest letters to the editor. Sounds like there are a few sour grapes that were previously against annexation and are still trying to fight it.
There have been a number of letters, including the one by Mr. Bonin, suggesting that the will of the people in the annexation area were overridden by the city council when it approved the annexation and that the annexation process was unfair for the residents of the pre-annexation Kirkland.
Today the new hot sport is lacrosse, the number of interested kids is increasing at huge rates, but unfortunately the number of suitable practice fields is not.
There were a line of seven trees cut on what seems to be on public land, at the southern corner Northeast 60th Street and 104 Avenue Northeast, in the Houghton area near some lots getting ready to be developed.
I am really disappointed in the Kirkland Reporter editorial last week.
Has there been a recent crime wave that I don’t know about that is sweeping through our newly annexed Juanita area and Finn Hill?!

Many of the neighbors around the Potala Village proposed development are still scratching their heads and wondering how an area clarified as to the low impact uses that would be allowed in commercial “residential market”
I got my nice little welcome to the City of Kirkland letter along with a demand for several hundred dollars to keep my business operating as it has for the last 23 years at the same address. What a handy little windfall for the City of Kirkland!
This is now week two of Kirkland being the 12th largest city in Washington.

We are a Washington State non-profit organization dedicated to creating a healthy, sustainable city by promoting service to the community, active citizen engagement in city decision making, and a robust, honest dialogue regarding issues facing our community and region.
Mother’s Day this month has gotten me thinking a lot about what it means to me to be a mom. I became a mother almost four years ago and it’s an awe-inspiring job.
I do agree with Ms. Knight’s May 13 letter and the “best investment” our state can make is funding family planning – read: Planned Parenthood. Continued funding at the national as well as local level is a win-win situation for all.

Every annexation, merger or incorporation has a period of dissension and discord. With the new annexation to Kirkland, it is history repeating itself.
