Jackie was first elected to the Board in 1995, and has served faithfully since then. Throughout her tenure, she has tirelessly served the students and families of the district that consists of the communities: Kirkland, Redmond, Sammamish and King county.

During her time of service, the LWSD has experienced tremendous growth, while maintaining high student achievement for all students, including an on-time graduation rate of 90 percent. Jackie has brought continuity to the Board, allowing for a focus on all students rather than bringing personal issues to the agenda.

Being an advocate for children has been Jackie Pendergrass’s mission for over 40 years. Starting as a classroom volunteer and PTSA member, and serving on the Assistance League of the Eastside, Jackie has worked in leadership roles, bringing to light the issues and concerns that prevent some of our most vulnerable students from being successful in the classroom. She was instrumental in starting the Lake Washington Schools Foundation, and has been the steward of the Juanita Schools Foundation, since its origin.

While Jackie is running for District One seat, as a Board member she has the responsibility to serve all of the families and students of the Lake Washington School District, now the fourth largest district in the state; something she has done with integrity, courage and dedication for twenty years.
