I was so touched to read the poignant, sweet, personal story you included in your Dec. 14 editor’s note, “Share gift of holiday giving.” Truly the opportunity to give is one that enriches the heart of the giver – even as it helps others. In my work at Hopelink I am privileged to meet so many people – dedicated staff and generous volunteers – who have discovered this, and who commit resources, talent, time and care to making life better for others. Like the change that results from adding even a little leaven to bread, each gift of resources or time enriches and contributes to the value of our whole community.
