Thank you Kirkland Classic Car Show volunteers | Letter

The 11th annual Kirkland Classic Car Show was a great success.

The 11th annual Kirkland Classic Car Show was a great success. There is something to be said about looking every direction from Lake Street and all you see are hot rods and classic cars.

While my brother Rocky and I were out judging, I was watching a young man with an elderly woman looking at a 32 Ford Coupe.

The elderly woman with a cane looked up at the young man and said, “We had one of these, your grandfather and I. Your grandfather loved that car, and I could tell you stories about that car.” He replied, “Grandma, not too much information, OK.”

She laughed and said, “We should have kept that car.”

I want the community to know how much work over the past year went into putting on a one-day show. This was all done by volunteers. I would like to thank the Legends Car Club for hosting the show.

I would also like to thank our family friend Harold (Butch) Kent for providing his antique fire truck for the kids. The kids actually somehow dislodged the gearshift, but being the master mechanic he is, he fixed it.

The following people made this happen: Dick Beazell, Alan Weiskind, Amber Chenoweth, Rod Graham, Samantha Sefton, Rob Butcher, Rocky Fletcher, Bill Hickok, Rick LaValley, Sues Husband, Austin Berendes, Kellie Jordan, Gina Casanova, to name a few.

But most importantly, thank you to the guys and gals who brought the cars. We wouldn’t have a show without you. Build it and they will come.
