The 2014 Kirkland Summer Concert Series came to a close a couple of weeks ago, and now that the dust has settled – wow, we are feeling so very grateful.
Not only did we get an unexpected (and very much needed) grant from Waste Management this year, we appreciated the support of 19 additional community sponsors as well. We also received some generous donations from concert-goers on the day of the concerts as well. We couldn’t have done this without you.
As the Tuesday Kids Concert organizer, I have to give a huge shout out to my amazing volunteers from Eastside Timebank, and to Vicki Lotz for being the primary ‘recruiter.’ Each week, they helped with parking, crosswalks, setup and tear-down and supported me at the concert booth. While I know they were earning ‘Time Bank Points’ for every hour they helped (this is a great organization by the way http://eastside.tbanks.org/), I sincerely don’t know what I would have done without them.
Thank you to everyone who supported us, and we look forward to seeing everyone next summer.
Julie Metteer, Kirkland
