I was very pleased to see the headline in a recent issue on the front cover (“The bench the neighborhood built,” March 4). It was so nice to see a happy story about the lady getting her bench when all around us all we see is doom and gloom. I for one want to keep up with current affairs, but I don’t need it rammed down my throat all the time. Reporters should focus on other things every once in a while.

I will be taking the bus to work tomorrow and I will get to sit on that bench and it will make me happy to think of that 94-year-old again. Thanks for the feel-good news!
