I enthusiastically endorse Shelley Kloba for Kirkland City Council position 2.
Shelley is incredibly thoughtful; dedicated to working with others, as well as for others, and having a positive impact on the lives of many Kirkland residents.
As a person who lives in an area that was once unincorporated King County, I was thrilled when Shelley accepted an invitation to speak at my child’s school during a PTA General Meeting. Additionally, she showed her support during Walk to School Week and once again made herself available to discuss the exciting changes happening up on Finn Hill as well as answer questions. All it takes is a walk with family members and friends on these summer evenings (whether in my neighborhood or all the way down to trendy downtown Kirkland) to understand that these changes would never occur without the traffic infrastructure and safety improvements in place to make it a reality. Whether it’s the new concrete bumpers (replacing the old) which guide and protect my kids on a bike ride or walk to and from school, crosswalk flags, repaved streets or freshly painted road stripes, I truly appreciate each and every thing that has taking place during the last couple of years… most noticeably over the last six months.
Furthermore, I have seen firsthand how she cares about the needs of all community members. Whether it’s Shelley’s involvement/support of the Cross Kirkland Corridor, affordable housing, revitalization of Totem Lake and Parkplace, or advocating for recreational opportunities for families, there is much to appreciate in Shelley’s work. I also appreciate the encouragement of Mrs. Kloba: To be a voice and be part of the process. As a result, I now take the time to be included in the surveys that the city of Kirkland sends out.
Thank you Shelley for listening, volunteering and being the kind of Kirkland resident we can all aspire to be. Let your voice be heard… Vote for Shelley Kloba.
