This month, I ask my Kirkland neighbors to vote “no” on the two Lake Washington school levies and bond measure proposal on the ballot. This appears to be a cash grab by pro-tax forces right before the state legislature is to take over school funding. The timing and arrogance of this current round of proposed tax increases shows how little some people regard how hard it is to keep up with our rising cost of living here on the Eastside.
The district needs to prioritize its needs and give the taxpayers a break.
