Andy Hill was able, with the help of the Ways and Means Committee, to pass a budget that had strong support for education. They were able to balance the budget as required by law and still increase spending to education.
My question is why the Washington Education Association wants to defeat a senator who worked so hard for teachers unless teachers and students are just not that important.
Consider that one-in-four students do not graduate from High School, it seems like the WEA should be working hard to support Hill’s efforts on funding education.
Just a thought, that is unless education, teachers and students are not their primary focus.
