Earlier this month, Emerson K-12 (EmK12) and Emerson High School (EmHS) in Kirkland graduated 23 students.
The commencement ceremonies were held on June 15 for EmK12 — where three students graduated — and on June 16 for EmHS, where 20 students graduated.
EmK12’s ceremony was held in the Emerson Commons and EmHS’s graduation was held in the Emerson gym.

According to its website, EmK12 is a choice school in the Lake Washington School District (LWSD) that is designed to support families who want to partner in their children’s education.
EmHS was formerly known as BEST and only accepts a maximum of 175 students in grades 9-12. According to the school’s website, this allows them to emphasize individual student learning styles and tailor educational opportunities to specific student goals.
