Those interested in seeing the Oscar-nominated documentary “13th” will have an opportunity to do so on Feb. 24 at Bastyr University.
The Bastyr Student Union is hosting their first movie night, featuring the thought-provoking documentary “13th,” a film about the history of racism in relation to the criminal justice system of the United States.
In the documentary, directed by Ava DuVernay (“Selma”), scholars, activists and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom.
The showing, which starts at 6 p.m., is open to the public. Popcorn and drinks will be provided.
