Kirkland Arts Center (KAC) will celebrate the 52nd anniversary of its founding with a special event tonight honoring the organization’s Founders, Investors and early Founding Members.

“Having had this wonderful group of visionaries in the early days has been such a gift to the Kirkland Arts Center,” said Pam Rembold, Executive Director of Kirkland Arts Center. “We are forever grateful for the path this group paved.”

Kirkland Arts Center was founded as the Creative Arts League in 1962 when a group of artists and citizens, led by artist and instructor William Radcliffe, became interested in providing local opportunities in the arts and were concerned about the preservation of a Kirkland landmark the Peter Kirk Building. These individuals purchased the building and began renovations to transform it into what is now known as the Kirkland Arts Center.

Since then, Kirkland Arts Center has owned and maintained the historic structure, while using the space for an exhibition gallery, community arts studio and education facility serving students of all ages and skill levels.
