Kamiakin Middle School seems to be bursting with musical talent. Once again, the school’s music department is being well represented by sending their top 7th and 8th grade musicians for the Washington Music Educator’s Conference.

This year, the musicians will rehearse and perform in Yakima on Feb. 15.

After working for months on their excerpts and then submitting rigorous, recorded auditions to the Washington Music Educators Association last October, the following students were selected as being qualified for a spot in the 2014 Junior All-State Band, Orchestra, or Choir: Crystal Canales, flute/piccolo; Natasha Lavides, flute; Tali Izhaky, tenor saxophone; Tommy Donahue, trombone; Matthew Maffeo, french horn; Max Haring, bassoon; Anaïs Criddle, soprano; and Eugene Ngo, string bass.
