The Kirkland Academy of Music and Performance is hosting auditions for its kids’ summer musical, “Little Johnny Jones,” on Friday.
The auditions are open to kids ages 6-17 and will start at 7 p.m. at KAMP, 11961 124th Ave. N.E.
“Little Johnny Jones,” which KAMP staff rewrote from George M. Cohan’s 1904 musical, is the story of a jockey who goes to England to race in the English Derby. While there, he is accused of throwing the race and must prove his innocence to return to the United States.
Tuition is $200 to participate in the summer show. Rehearsals will be Wednesday evenings, Friday evenings and Sunday late afternoons. Shows will be Aug. 11 and 12, at 7 p.m. each night.
