Kirkland Oktoberfest musical guests, including Smilin’ Scandinavians, Alpenfolk, and S-Bhan, will keep your toes tapping, feet dancing, and hearts singing along with their lively musical presentations.

Then roll out the barrel indeed, as Kirkland Oktoberfest will actually have barrel rolling competitions as well as a fun selection of other Biergarten games, including bratwurst eating competitions, costume contests, stein hoisting, the Fräulein Liter Dash, corn hole games and tournaments, and more.

You’ll want to be sure not to miss the wiener dog races at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 in the Kirkland Oktoberfest Village, where dachshunds race a course that’s just their size to be the first place “wiener-winner.”

Laura D. Young will judge some contests and Nature’s Pet Market in Kirkland will award some fun prizes. Then dress your dogs to the “ca-nines” and take part in the dog costume contest to follow the race with bonus points for accompanying costumed owners.

Festival attendees can also enjoy the Oktoberfest Village featuring unique vendors and family activities on Saturday and Sunday of the festival. Saturday features free throw shooting with former NBA player Detlef Schrempf at 11:30 a.m.

Though the Oktoberfest Village is free and open to all ages, admission to the Oktoberfest Biergarten requires a ticket and age of 21 years or older.

Kirkland Oktoberfest will also feature a selection of Northwest craft beers in the Marina Park pavilion.
