From the ever-popular Caspar Babypants and Cowboy Buck and Elizabeth, to The Kings of Swing and Creme Tangerine, the free 2012 Kirkland Summer Concert lineup will have something for everyone.
The summer concert series will run from July 10 through Aug. 30 at Marina Park and will include both children’s and evening concerts.
The following Children’s Concerts will run from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesdays at Marina Park:
• July 10, Johnny Bregar: Rootsy, jazzy, bluesy music for kids and adults.
• July 17, Caspar Babypants: Caspar returns in a rocking’ solo incarnation.
• July 24, The Not-Its: Don’t forget your tutu!
• July 31, Eric Herman and the Thunder Puppies: Cool tunes for kids.
• Aug. 7, Recess Monkey: These teachers know how to rock.
• Aug. 14, Cowboy Buck and Elizabeth: High-energy interactive musical comedy, dance, sing-along, and ventriloquism.
• Aug. 21, The Board of Education: Action … Adventure … Danger … Thrills! And fun!
• Aug. 28, The Brian Waite Band: A rock band that performs adventure stories.
The following Evening Concerts will run from 7-8:30 p.m. at Marina Park:
• July 12, The Fabulous Roof Shakers: Blues, R&B and Soul.
• July 19, The Kings of Swing: 17-piece Big Band.
• July 26, The Emily McIntosh Soul Band: This powerful singer opened for Al Green.
• Aug. 2, Clinton Fearon and the Boogie Brown Band: Roots reggae from the best reggae band this side of Jamaica.
• Aug. 9, Jayme Stone: World banjo, also at the Kirkland Performance Center on Aug. 10.
• Aug. 16, Creme Tangerine: This Kirkland band performs Beatles and more.
• Aug. 23, The Mark DuFresne Blues Band: Powerhouse blues vocalist and harmonica player.
• Aug. 30, Cambalache Salsa Band: Conservando la tradicion.
