Hoping the “third time is the charm,” Kirkland celebrity Jason Mesnick will have a second chance at on-air love and stardom on the upcoming season of ABC’s “The Bachelor.”
Television network ABC has asked the local account executive and single father to return as the program’s leading man for the show’s debut Monday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
Mesnick, 32, became a huge viewer favorite on ABC last season in “The Bachelorette” in the final episodes to win over the affections of DeAnna Pappas. The single father from Kirkland apparently struck a chord with many women, near and far. After the final episode, the network was reportedly flooded with sympathetic e-mails from fans.
The middle son in a Cleveland, Ohio family of three boys, Mesnick moved to Washington at the age of eight and received his BA in psychology at the University of Washington. Jason currently lives with his younger brother, Larry, and with his own three-year-old son, Ty.
This will be the 13th edition of ABC’s popular romance reality series.
Kirkland’s Jason Mesnick will star on ABC television’s “The Bachelor” program, set to debut Jan. 5, but an announcement from the show’s leading man has already unfolded the drama before the pre-taped show airs.
In a well-publicized interview with People Magazine, he announced his engagement to an as-yet-unnamed bride.
Mesnick, a 32-year-old account executive and single father to a son, became a fan favorite in last year’s TV show The Bachelorette. He was eliminated from the program in the final episode, but was invited to return earlier this year for The Batchelor.
Several scenes from the upcoming show were reportedly shot in and around Kirkland, as well as the Bellevue Downtown Park.
The Heathman Hotel is also offering a limited time package for guests who want to cheer on Kirkland native and single dad Jason Mesnick as he takes another leap at love in ABC’s “The Bachelor.” The one-night package, priced at $1200, is available every Monday throughout the season.
The Heathman “Bachelor Party Package” offers a hostess and eleven of her closest friends an opportunity to view episodes of the show in the privacy of the hotel’s luxurious Owners Suite. Jason himself visited The Heathman in last season’s “The Bachelorette.”
The Bachelor Party package includes: A private viewing party for a group of up to 12 people, and one night lodging for four, in the Owner’s Suite, featuring a luxurious living room complete with a two-sided fireplace, wet bar, three HD TVs and a dining room; in suite heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktail bar courtesy of Trellis. In addition, guests will receive red roses and sparkling wine delivered at the start of the show and fans will be able to cast their vote on who should win Mesnick’s heart.
