Lockhart named permanent executive director for the Kirkland Performance Center

Interim Kirkland Performance Center Executive Director Jeff Lockhart has been named the permanent executive director effective July 1.

Interim Kirkland Performance Center Executive Director Jeff Lockhart has been named the permanent executive director effective July 1. Lockhart has served as the interim executive director of the center since February 2014.

As executive director, Lockhart is committed to stewarding the mission, programs and overall vitality of the Kirkland Performance Center. Lockhart will help cultivate the center’s relationship with its stakeholders, as well as manage its administrative, fiscal and fundraising plans.

“Jeff is a long-time proponent of the arts and his dedication to our organization is immense,” said Kathe Fowler, president of the center’s board of directors. “We are fortunate to have such an exemplary leader on our team who is well equipped to lead the Kirkland Performance Center forward.”

Lockhart has served as executive director of the Creatio Institute at Northwest University since 2009. Lockhart founded Creatio – a multi-faceted music industry institute that includes academic degree programs, a commercial recording studio enterprise and youth music industry programs. He also spearheads advancement, development, marketing and recruitment strategies for the institute.

Prior to the Creatio Institute, Lockhart was vice president of development at Northwest University.  Earlier in his career, he served as an investment manager at Edward Jones Investments in Snohomish, Washington, and as director of public relations and communications at Northwest University.

As a performing artist, Lockhart is the co-founder, manager and drummer for the Northwest band Crème Tangerine. In 2011, Lockhart received the Kirkland Cachet Award from the city of Kirkland, an award given to the person who contributed most significantly to the arts, heritage and culture of the city in the previous year.

Lockhart holds a bachelor’s degree from Northwest University and is slated to receive his MBA from Northwest University this year.
