The Lake Washington Robotics Club recently qualified for the Vex Robotics Competition World Championships in Anaheim, Calif. on April 23-26. The club is now attempting to raise money for the trip.

“The costs of attending this prestigious event are high, and our club has entered a period of fundraising to cover the costs, said Arman Talkar. “Our club is dedicated to keeping our club a local organization, and that means all the fundraising needs to be local.”

The robotics club has 15 members and also qualified for the championships last year. Club organizers hope to send all of its members to the World Championships.

“We require donations from the Kirkland community to supply travel scholarships to our members,” said Talkar. “Donations also go to buying robotics parts to make our robot competitive and to funding robotics events that promote STEM activities in the community.”

The club also needs money for the tournament entry fees.

To donate to the club make checks out to Lake Washington High School (LWHS) Robotics Club and mail them to Lake Washington High School at 12033 N.E. 80th St., Kirkland, WA 98033. For more information about the club visit http://lwhsrobotics.org/.
