Watching the news on television recently, Bill Rosenthal made the connection.
His son, Travis, was playing with a Rubik’s Cube as Bill listened to the news broadcaster drone on about the US government and the current banking situation.
Now, Bill has a five-foot Rubik’s Cube cemented in the front yard of his Highlands home, with a sign that says “Our Government.”
“I feel like our government is like a Rubik’s Cube – nobody seems to want to solve the puzzle,” said the retiree who’s lived in Kirkland more than 60 years, adding, “Every department just can’t get the pieces together to solve it.”
It took Bill about a month to make his Rubik’s Cube out of steel and plywood. It’s his statement of how he feels about the US government, he says.
“If they can’t figure it out in four years, we need to take the game away from them.”
