The following events will happen at Parkplace Books in Kirkland:
Thursday, Sept. 26, 7 p.m.: Ten-time Emmy award winner and local author Bryan Johnston, along with signing copies of his new novel “Man with a Gun,” will be presenting the fascinating facts and stories he uncovered during research for this book.
You will learn things about the US military, snipers and the Kennedy assassination that will leave you thinking, “Wow, I had no idea.”

Wednesday, Oct. 2, 7 p.m.: Meet author Jayant Swamy as he discusses and signs copies of his book “Colours in the Spectrum,” a novel about a young teenager, Karan, growing up in the garden city of Bangalore in the sedate 70s.

Wednesday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m.: Poetry Night at Parkplace Books. Join featured Pacific Northwest poets for an evening of poetry reading and open mic. This is a great chance to read from your own personal work and hear from some of the area’s best local talent. Open to all.
Thursday, Oct. 17, 7 p.m.: In Celebration of National Reading Group Month and the regional readings “Round the Sound” program, Parkplace will host guest speaker Indu Sundaresan, the internationally bestselling author of “The Twentieth Wife” as she discusses and signs copies of her new book, “The Mountain of Light.” The novel is based on the tumultuous history of a legendary 186-carat diamond and the men and women who possessed it.
