The 6th annual “12K’s of Christmas” Holiday Run starts at Marina Park at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14th. All ages are encouraged to either walk or run in the 12K or 5K course in this holiday-themed event. Racers are welcome to race through the streets of Kirkland in a festive holiday costume, spreading the Christmas cheer. A post-event celebration includes a free kids dash for tots 10 years old and under, free food, music, dancing, the Car Toys Aftershock stage, and a holiday costume contest. T-shirts are available to tot racers for $10. A special event will be held for area pet owners, sponsored by Dooley’s Dog House pet store. The Dog Contest will be for the fastest 12K and 5K dogs as well as the top 3 best dressed holiday dogs — each win $50 in doggie prizes provided by Dooley’s Dog House! Online registration is available at $40 per racer for the 12K race and $25 for the 5K race. A free long-sleeve shirt is given to all registrants. Same-day registration is available for an increased price. Registration begins at 8 a.m.
