Volunteers invited to restore Kirkland’s Watershed Park during Arbor Day event

Kirkland’s annual Arbor Day Celebration and forest restoration will take place at Watershed Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 112th Ave. NE.

Kirkland’s annual Arbor Day Celebration and forest restoration will take place at Watershed Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 112th Ave. NE.

Volunteers are invited to reconnect with nature and support stewardship efforts by planting native trees, shrubs and ground cover and removing invasive plants.

At 12:20 p.m., join Kirkland Mayor Joan McBride, Washington State Department of Natural Resources/Urban and Community Forestry Sarah Foster and Kirkland Urban Forester Deb Powers in a commemorative Arbor Day tree planting.

Forest restoration will resume until 2 p.m. Free pizza will be provided, courtesy of The Watershed Company during the lunch break.
