Join Green Kirkland’s Forest Monitoring Team to collect valuable data in Kirkland’s natural areas, while learning about forest ecology and plant identification.

An introductory training will be held from 5:30-9 p.m. Thursday, July 19 at Grass Lawn Pavilion in Redmond. This will include a background into forest monitoring, an overview of the monitoring protocols and a field exercise to learn the tools and methodology of collecting data.

Monitoring efforts occur through October, and volunteers need to commit to assisting with at least one plot throughout this field season (although more is encouraged).  All equipment, site locations and any additional support are provided by the program coordinator. No experience is necessary, just a willingness to learn, explore and have fun.
