Volunteers needed to remove invasive plants on CKC

On Monday morning, volunteer trail stewards will be removing invasive plants along the Cross Kirkland Corridor (CKC). The focus for this work party will be on removing blackberries and scotch broom.

From 9-11 a.m., the volunteers will be working along the CKC where it intersects N.E. 112th Street in Totem Lake. Parking will be available on the south side of 112th adjacent to the trail.

Participants are encouraged to bring long-handled loppers and water. A few extra tools will be provided for those who don’t own loppers. Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, long sleeves, sturdy shoes and gloves (leather are best for blackberries).
