If the old saying “I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream” is true, everyone will have a chance to make some noise on the Kirkland water front.
The Kirkland Ben & Jerry’s location will participate in the company’s Free Ice Cream Cone Day from noon to 8 p.m. on April 4. It is the 38th year for the promotion and it is presented to celebrate Ben & Jerry patrons’ ongoing support.
Ben & Jerry’s shops at Bellevue Square and the Issaquah Highlands will also take part in the free cone day.
“We love getting involved with and giving back to our communities. It’s amazing what we can do together over shared values and several scoops of ice cream,” Mark Mullet, owner of the three Eastside franchise shops, said.
The company was founded on the idea that business has not just the opportunity, but also the responsibility, to give back to the community, a release stated. The free cone day is a long standing tradition when it comes to benevolent acts, and as Jerry said, “If it’s not fun, why do it?” The annual anniversary merges the two founding principles and demonstrates that giving back to the community is just as sweet as free ice cream, the release continues.
The Kirkland Ben & Jerry’s is located at 176 Lake Street South.
