Sen. Guy Palumbo, D-Maltby, will host a town hall meeting this Saturday with his 1st District seatmates, Rep. Derek Stanford, D-Bothell, and Rep. Shelly Kloba, D-Kirkland.
The two-hour meeting provides a forum for constituents to hear updates on the 2018 legislative session and to ask questions of their lawmakers.
“The more I hear what’s on people’s minds, the better we can make sure to address their concerns and priorities in Olympia,” Palumbo said in a press release. “I’m looking forward to a robust discussion full of thoughtful ideas and viewpoints.”
The meeting is scheduled for 3:30-5:30 p.m. at Mobius Hall at Cascadia Community College (18345 Campus Way N.E. in Bothell). At a similar town hall meeting last year, parking was free. This year, however, the school will be requiring its normal parking fee of $4 per car for all-day parking.
Since the state Senate is tentatively scheduled for potential floor action on Saturday, it’s possible Palumbo may be forced to miss the event, the release states.
“I love to hear from folks and really hope I can be there,” Palumbo said in the release. “Though working on weekends is not an uncommon occurrence during short, 60-day legislation sessions like this year’s, I’m optimistic I’ll be able to attend the town hall meeting.”
