520 bridge to close this weekend

The Evergreen Point Floating Bridge on SR 520 will close this weekend, from 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13. The bridge will be closed both directions between Montlake Boulevard and I-405.

During this closure, Bellevue Way will also be closed 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday between Northup Way and Northeast 32nd Place.

The closure comes so crews can demolish the old Bellevue Way Northeast overpass over SR 520 and install a fish-friendly culvert.

Crews need to dig a 25-foot-deep trench across all lanes of the freeway, insert the culvert and then re-pave the section of road.

SR 520 isn’t the only closure that will impact traffic over the weekend. SR 167 will also be closed.
