The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between June 27 and July 2, there were 391 traffic incidents, 15 traffic accidents, six DUIs, 25 general traffic incidents, 29 alarm calls, 18 abandoned vehicles, four burglaries, 13 incidents of fraud, nine civil incidents, six cases of harassment, 22 thefts, one vehicle prowl, nine warrants served, 19 noise complaints filed, two court order violations, 10 animal calls, two assaults, 14 cases of domestic violence, one malicious mischief and 29 incidents involving at least one arrest.
July 2
Assault: 12:15 p.m., 10000 block of NE 125th Ct. A 26-year-old man was arrested after he assaulted his 22-year-old girlfriend by pushing her into a large bed post. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Kirkland jail.
July 1
Assault: 8 p.m., 12000 block of 120th PL NE. A 33-year-old man was arrested after he bit his former roommate’s ear. In response, the former roommate bit him on the thumb. Police determined the suspect to be the primary aggressor and arrested him.
June 30
Assault: 11:11 p.m., Ne 140th St and 84th Ave NE. A 19-year-old man was arrested after he assaulted his 19-year-old girlfriend.
June 29
Fraud: 2:20 a.m. A 17-year-old girl was arrested after she was discovered highly intoxicated, gave police a fake ID and lied about her identity.
Theft: 7:19 p.m., 8000 block of NE 128th St. A 38-year-old man was arrested after he stole his 71-year-old father’s debit card and made purchases without his permission.
June 28
Warrant: 9:43 a.m., 6300 block of Southbound I-405 NE. A 29-year-old man was arrested on a felony warrant after he was stopped in traffic for driving with a license suspended.
June 27
Assault: 10 p.m., 9900 block of NE 126th St. A 53-year-old woman was arrested after hitting a 19-year-old woman in the face. The victim complained of pain and received a bloody nose. The victim had been living with the suspect during the week prior and had lived with her previously when she was forced to move out of her mother’s house. After the suspect was arrested the victim refused to cooperate with police and would not allow photos to be taken of her injury or provide a written statement.
Assault: 10:20 p.m., 13100 block of 107th Pl NE. A 64-year-old woman was arrested after she cut her 23-year-old daughter with a samurai sword. The suspect was transported to the King County Jail.
