Many people in Kirkland know Jim Walen, the owner of Ford of Kirkland. But many more may want to get to know his wife Amy Walen, as she announced her candidacy for the Kirkland City Council May 4.

“I feel like I have the ability and potential to do some good work there,” said Walen. “I want to help people. We live in a fabulous city and I am trying to get more involved.”

Amy, who is 41, is the Chief Financial Officer at the dealership, a $100 million business, and has lived in Kirkland for four years. She is also a breast cancer survivor.
