Arrests following assaults at Juanita Pub, Central Tavern | Kirkland police blotter

The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter police blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland.

Between Feb. 16-22, there were 823 total incidents, including 167 traffic incidents, 25 traffic accidents, five DUIs, 17 general traffic incidents, four incidents involving illegal drugs, 33 alarm calls, 10 abandoned vehicles, one burglary, 10 incidents of fraud, 15 civil incidents, eight cases of harassment, 16 thefts, eight vehicle prowls, one vehicle theft, 10 warrants served, eight noise complaints, one animal calls, 13 incidents of domestic violence, no fireworks complaints, 10 disturbances, one sex offense, three hit and runs and 26 incidents involving at least one arrest.

Feb. 16

False information: 12:45 a.m., 11500 block of 124th Ave. NE; Police stopped a 22-year-old Mountlake Terrace man who was driving with a suspended license. The man gave a false name, and was arrested for giving false information and for driving with a suspended license.

Feb. 17

DUI: 1:20 a.m., 10500 block of Northbound I-405; A 57-year-old man nearly struck a marked law enforcement vehicle, which was involved in a traffic stop. The man was stopped driving his Ford F-150 and was found to be intoxicated and arrested. The man blew a .187 and a .188.

Warrants: 1:45 a.m., 11600 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 36-year-old Bothell man was contacted outside of Jack in the Box after he was observed littering trash from his vehicle in the parking lot. After identifying the man by his driver license, it was discovered that he had a $10,000 felony warrant out of Everett for 2nd-degree assault. The man was arrested and booked into county jail.

Feb. 18

Assault: 12:29 a.m., 11400 block of NE 94th St.; A 47-year-old man caused a disturbance at the Central Tavern and assaulted a bouncer. The man was arrested for 4th-degree assault, and was booked and released without incident.

False information: 12:43 a.m., 12400 block of NE 116th St.; Law enforcement contacted at 24-year-old Kent man in reference to a disturbance at Jack in the Box. The man gave the officer a false name and did not admit it until after he was identified by a mobile fingerprint scanner. The man was arrested for making false statements.

Domestic: 4:20 a.m., 11200 block of NE 60th St; A 47-year-old man bit his 45-year-old girlfriend on her knee. The man was arrested for 4th-degree assault and booked into Kirkland jail. Five weapons, two concealed carry permits, ammunition and other items were taken for safe keeping.

Assault: 5:50 p.m., 12400 block of 110th Lane NE; A 30-year-old man went to the apartment of another 30-year-old man, who was in an off-and-on relationship with the first man’s wife. The first man punched the second man at the parking lot of the apartment complex and was arrested on assault charges. The charges include a domestic violence tag, as the victim is married to the suspect’s 54-year-old mother and the suspect and victim have resided together in the past.

Feb. 19

Assault: 12:01 a.m., 9700 block of NE 120th Place; A 26-year-old man was intoxicated at the Juanita Pub and caused a disturbance. He assaulted at least one patron and after he was escorted out of the bar by staff, he punched one of the bartenders in the head. He was arrested for 4th-degree assault.

DUI: 1:13 a.m., 500 block of Central Way; A 28-year-old woman was arrested for DUI and provided a preliminary breath reading of .143.

Theft: 8:40 p.m., 11200 block of NE 124th St.; An intoxicated 15-year-old boy threatened employees and stole alcohol from the Totem Lake QFC. When contacted by law enforcement, the boy attempted to resist being detained. The boy was arrested for 3rd-degree theft, minor in possession of alcohol and obstruction of law enforcement.

Domestic: 9:57 p.m., undisclosed location; A 16-year-old boy had a verbal argument with his 55-year-old father, as the boy is on juvenile probation and came home intoxicated. During the argument, the boy punched his bedroom door, leaving two fist-sized holes in it. The boy was arrested and found to be intoxicated. The boy blew a .077 and was booked into King County Youth Corrections for malicious mischief and minor in possession of alcohol-consumption.

Feb. 20

DUI: 2:20 a.m., 15000 block of Redmond Way; A 41-year-old Redmond woman was arrested for DUI after she was observed making several traffic violations while driving her 2009 Toyota Prius. The woman refused all field tests and was booked into Kirkland Jail.

Feb. 21

Warrants: 12:30 p.m., 12800 block of 116th Way; Law enforcement contacted a 21-year-old man for riding his bicycle without a light. The man had a warrant out of Issaquah and was taken into custody and transferred to Issaquah police. The bicycle was picked up by the man’s father.

Warrants: 12:36 a.m., 12900 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 24-year-old man was arrested a misdemeanor warrant.

Warrants: 1:06 a.m., 11200 block of NE 124th St.; A 19-year-old woman was arrested in the parking lot of Value Village on her $5,000 Malicious Mischief warrant out of Auburn.

Feb. 22

Theft: 11:54 p.m., 14300 block of 124th Ave. NE; A 24-year-old man will be charged through investigation for 3rd-degree theft after failing to pay his taxi fare. The man ran from a cab at the Kingsgate 7-11 to the apartment complex across the street and was not located.
