Balducci earns key endorsements in campaign for King County Council seat

Bellevue Mayor Claudia Balducci, a Sound Transit Board member and former director of the King County Jails, who is running for King County Council announced the endorsements of Congresswoman Suzan DelBene and State Representative Joan McBride.

Bellevue Mayor Claudia Balducci, a Sound Transit Board member and former director of the King County Jails, who is running for King County Council announced the endorsements of Congresswoman Suzan DelBene and State Representative Joan McBride.

“Claudia Balducci has consistently put people before politics as an elected official and public servant,” DelBene said. “She has stood up for what is right for Bellevue and the Eastside and has shown the leadership required to get real results. We would be fortunate to have her representing us on the King County Council.”

Former Kirkland Mayor and now State Representative, McBride has also endorsed Balducci. On the Bellevue City Council, Balducci worked alongside then mayor McBride to move the Eastside forward on transportation, safety, and quality of life issues.

DelBene and McBride join a list of endorsers including Bellevue Firefighters, King County Labor Council, King County Democrats, NARAL Pro-Choice WA, Congressman Adam Smith, State Senator Cyrus Habib, State Rep. Ross Hunter, State Rep. and former Mercer Island Councilmember Tana Senn, State Rep. Judy Clibborn, and former State Rep. Marcie Maxwell, Bellevue Councilmembers Lynne Robinson and John Stokes, and former Bellevue Mayor Connie Marshall.
