The following is a release from King County Elections:
Today is the election day deadline for the April 28 Special Election for all registered voters in King County. Voters have until 8 p.m. to return ballots without a postage stamp to any of 24 drop-off locations or three Accessible Voting Centers.
Voters who are mailing ballots today need to remember to affix a first class (49 cents) stamp and ensure that the mail will be postmarked today. Ballots arriving with a postmark later than election day, by law, will not be opened or counted.
As of last night, King County Elections had received about 230,000 ballots of nearly 1.2 million sent for the April Special Election.
King County Elections forecast a 33 percent turnout in today’s special election.
Initial election results will be available at 8:15 p.m. Results for users of smart phones and other mobile devices also will be available at the same time.
