A Bellevue-based chiropractor is facing felony charges for allegedly possessing and dealing images of child pornography, according to the Washington Department of Health (DOH).
Robert Brad Ulrich, 49, was charged in King County Superior Court with first-degree possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and first-degree dealing in depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to a recent news release.
On June 30, 2020, agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a private resident search at his home in Kirkland, located on the 13000 block of 97th Avenue NE, in connection to a child pornography investigation.
According to the DOH, the search allegedly revealed a desktop computer that contained several thousand images, and multiple videos consistent with child abuse material. By Feb. 17 this year, the charges were brought forth against Ulrich, who pleaded not guilty.
“The Secretary finds that the conduct alleged here demonstrates extremely poor judgment, a propensity to sexually exploit children, and presents an immediate danger to public health and safety,” stated the DOH Summary Action Order.
Back on April 21, 2000, the State of Washington issued Ulrich a credential to practice as a chiropractor, but he currently can no longer practice in Washington until the DOH charges are resolved. The issue was referred by the Chiropractic Quality Assurance Commission to the Secretary of Health.
Ulrich’s credentials have been summarily suspended pending further disciplinary proceedings by the Secretary of Health. Ulrich’s next court date will be a pre-trial hearing that is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13 at the King County Superior Court.
