As part of a Rotary District 5030 Simplified Matching Grant project, 19 volunteers from the New Member committee Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club worked together to paint staircases at KITH’s Salisbury Court on Aug. 27.
Thanks to a generous donation by Starbuck’s on Lake Street and Park Lane, the group started the morning supercharged with great coffee. They got a lot of work done in an amazingly short amount of time to help beautify Salisbury Court, a KITH property.
Residents who saw the new color was going up were very excited and grateful.
Kirkland Kiwanians supported this project by pressure washing the stairs two weeks prior, and members of Holy Family Catholic Parish men’s group sanded and did minor carpentry repairs to the stairs one week prior to the Rotary work party.
Since 1989, KITH has provided housing and services to Eastside families to help them transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency. Visit www.kithcares.org to learn how to get involved as a volunteer.
