Jesse Bica of Bothell achieved the coveted rank of Eagle Scout earlier this year, and his accomplishment was acknowledged with an Eagle Court of Honor.
The recent Bothell High graduate and member of Kirkland-based Troop 572 has held positions such as patrol leader, assistant patrol leader and instructor. He earned 25 merit badges and participated in numerous service projects throughout his scouting career.
He completed his Eagle project last summer after returning from the world’s jump-rope tournament in Cape Town, South Africa, where he won the speed championship and broke the world record. For his Eagle project, he coordinated a community jump-rope performance with the help of his Hot Dog USA teammates and fellow Boy Scouts. This event was a fund-raiser to benefit Kelly Clark, who was seriously injured in an automobile accident in May of last year. Clark’s daughters were taking a jump-rope class that he was teaching at the time.
He has received an academic and merit scholarship from Seattle Pacific University, where he will be attending school in the fall.
