Boys & Girls Club fundraiser a success

The Kirkland Boys & Girls Club held their 15th Annual Don James Golf Classic at the Golf Club at Newcastle Sept. 12. More than 200 guests gathered to golf and help raise about $85,000 for Boys & Girls Club’s programs.

The Kirkland Boys & Girls Club held their 15th Annual Don James Golf Classic at the Golf Club at Newcastle Sept. 12. More than 200 guests gathered to golf and help raise about $85,000 for Boys & Girls Club’s programs.

The day began at noon with a shotgun start as the golfers participated on two courses not only golfing, but participating in entertaining contests, raffles and hole-in-one giveaways provided by sponsors.

During the auction, patrons had the opportunity to hear guest speaker, Club Parent, and avid supporter of the Club, Kiki Tsegai. Tsegai shared her story of how the Boys & Girls Club impacted, changed and helped her son when no other organization could.

“With the help of Cobalt Mortgage, this marks an amazing achievement for the Kirkland Boys & Girls Club,” said Club Director Doug Wozeniak of the event’s turn out.
