Western Washington University student Alicja Cholewinska, daughter of Pawel and Ahna Cholewinska of Kirkland, received a $2,000 MAP Scholarship for the 2010-2011 academic year.
The Multicultural Achievement Program (MAP) Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership and a commitment to multicultural issues and activities in school or the community.
Cholewinska, an entering freshman to WWU, earned a 3.0 GPA from Lake Washington High School. She is planning to graduate in 2014 with a degree in Music Education. Cholewinska’s professional goals include becoming a high school music teacher.
