Beginning at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, the City of Kirkland Public Works Department and Frank Coluccio Construction Company will repair a broken watermain on N.E. 85th Street between 122nd Avenue N.E. and 124th Avenue N.E., in the Rose Hill Business District.
The cause of the break/leak is unknown at this time and repair is expected to take approximately one week. Traffic and water pressure impacts are expected during the repair. The following traffic revisions will be in place:
• Westbound travel on N.E. 85th Street between 124th Avenue N.E. and 122nd Avenue N.E. will be reduced to one lane.
• Existing two westbound lanes will be closed and westbound traffic will be diverted to the middle turning lane between 122nd and 124th Avenue N.E.
• No left turn onto southbound 122nd Avenue N.E. during this work.
The city is notifying affected residents and businesses. It is necessary that the water in the affected mainline be rerouted which may result in lower than normal pressure for water customers in the Highlands Neighborhood.
