Closure of northbound I-405 in Bellevue moving ahead this weekend

Drivers need to plan ahead to get through downtown Bellevue this weekend, as crews will be closing the northbound section of I-405 from N.E. 8th Street to SR 520.

Drivers need to plan ahead to get through downtown Bellevue this weekend, as crews will be closing the northbound section of I-405 from N.E. 8th Street to SR 520.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Friday, all northbound lanes will be closed until 4 a.m. Monday while crews put the finishing touches on the new braided ramps. Crews will begin closing on ramps to I-405 in the hours leading up to the full closure.

This weekend, drivers should plan for heavy congestion through Bellevue. Signed detours will be posted and drivers will be routed to Bellevue Way N.E. and to 148th Ave. S.E.

The project was postponed last weekend due to heavy rain. With light precipitation likely, project engineers feel confident they can get the job done.

Once the new ramps open Monday morning, drivers will have a new way to connect with I-405 and SR 520 in Bellevue.
