Kirkland’s Solid Waste Division will host a public meeting from 6-7:30 p.m. Dec. 17 at Kirkland City Hall Council Chambers to receive public comment on the King County Solid Waste Division’s Draft 2009 Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan. The plan presents proposed strategies for managing King County’s solid waste over the next six years. Kirkland residents are encouraged to attend to learn about the physical and financial infrastructure of King County’s solid waste system and a number of proposed waste reduction and recycling goals and collection and processing recommendations. King County seeks public comment by Feb. 4, 2010. The plan can be viewed online at www.kingcounty.gov/swdcompplan.
