Taking advantage of an opportunity to fund raise and support the larger community, the Community Elementary School in Houghton hosted its first ever Holiday Spirit Festival on Dec. 1 to celebrate all of the winter holidays around the world. The perfect winter holiday trifecta included: school community building – gathering family, friends and Eastside neighbors to enjoy sweet and savory treats and entertainment by a DJ and junior high jazz combo. In addition, the event included fund raising and shopping.

Community Elementary school is a small Choice School in the Lake Washington School District with around 70 elementary students from 50 families. As one visitor noted the event was very large for such a small school.
