Concert pianist Sam Rotman will be giving a classical piano concert at Rose Hill Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m. on Sept. 13.
When Rotman made his debut at the age of 16 with the San Antonio Symphony Orchestra before an audience of 6,000 the Baldwin Keynote Magazine wrote, “Sam Rotman is a pianist with abundant potential.”
Rotman received his Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Juilliard School in New York City. As a student, he received nine grants, scholarships and prizes. Subsequently, he won five piano competitions in the United States and Europe, most prestigiously the Laureate Winner in the Fourth International Beethoven Competition in Vienna, Austria. In 1978, Mr. Rotman participated in the Sixth International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, Russia. He has given more than 2,600 performances in North and South America, Eastern and Western Europe, Southeast Asia, India, China, Russia and Africa totaling 59 countries.
A reception will be held after the concert in which Rotman will be available to answer questions. During the concert, he will give his Christian testimony.
