The construction of planned improvements for the intersection at N.E. 68th Street and 108th Ave. N.E. in the Houghton neighborhood are expected to begin Jan. 9 and to be complete this summer.

The City of Kirkland’s contractor, Sanders Construction, will build a new westbound to northbound right turn lane on 68th and modify turning radiuses at all corners of the intersection to improve right turn movements.

Additionally, sidewalks and curb enhancements will be made at all four corners to improve pedestrian safety and safe school walk routes.

Construction hours will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday with traffic-related restrictions to occur between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to minimize peak hour impacts.
