The blotter feature is both a description of a small selection of police incidents and a statistical round-up of all calls to the Kirkland Police Department that are dispatched to on-duty police officers. The Kirkland Reporter Police Blotter is not intended to be representative of all police calls originating in Kirkland, which average about 1,000 per week.
Between July 17-23, the Kirkland Police Department reported 520 traffic violations (five DUIs), 33 alarm calls, 21 car accidents, 21 noise complaints, 24 thefts, nine car prowls, nine domestic violence calls, seven calls for harassment, 12 acts of fraud, 21 calls of a disturbance, five calls for illegal substances and 15 calls of civil disturbance. At least 32 people were arrested.
July 23
Indecent exposure: 6:19 p.m., 11200 block of N.E. 116th Street. A Kirkland woman called police when her daughter’s friend told her about an indecent incident that occurred. The girl said that she was called over to a gold or silver Mercedes Benz SUV while she was walking to her friend’s house. The hispanic male was passing by and asked for directions. When the girl got to the passenger-side window she noticed that the man had his pants pulled down. The victim told police that “he was touching himself.” The girl was shook up and walked away quickly.
July 21
Assault: 11:26 p.m., 12204 N.E. 124th Street. A 36-year-old Kirkland man was arrested after throwing his girlfriend of two years against a wall, slamming her head into the wall and then throwing her to the ground. The woman had multiple injuries.
July 20
Noise complaint: 10:29 p.m., 306 11th Place. Police responded to a noise complaint where a party was going on. In a check of those at the party, police found a 21-year-old Kirkland man had a warrant out of King County. The man was arrested.
July 19
Theft: 5:13 p.m., 8629 120th Ave. N.E. A 52-year-old Kirkland female was arrested after attempting to steal a wallet and camera equipment from the Kirkland Costco. The woman was also issued a no-trespass order for three years at the business.
Trespass: 3:10 p.m., 202 Third Street. A 19-year-old Issaquah man was found to be in violation of a no-trespass order against him. The man was cited and released.
Warrant arrest: 11:30 a.m., 13409 N.E. 133rd Street. A 29-year-old Kirkland man was arrested on an assault warrant out of Seattle.
July 17
Domestic: 5:21 a.m., 11601 N.E. 67th Street. An 18-year-old Kirkland man was arrested after damaging an 18-year-old woman’s Honda and then biting her on the face.
